Anya Collyer

Drama & Theatre Studies, English Literature, Psychology, Dance

I chose Hereford Sixth Form College because it was an opportunity to study in an institution so much bigger than my high school. It was a chance to meet students who had attended schools across the county and to study subjects that weren't available to me at school.

The relationship you have with tutors is that little bit more laid back. You have more responsibility to manage your time and there are lots of opportunities to participate in extra curricular activities and exams.

I was part of the Performing Arts Academy which gave me the chance to take my Grades 6 and 8 in Acting for Performance and the ATCL Level 3 Diploma in Acting.
Research for our written exams took us to London to see live theatre - The Wizard of Oz and The Woman in Black. These performances were so impressive that it made me try even harder to pursue an acting career.

The tutors played a huge role in encouraging my aspirations for the future. They supported my applications and really went out of their way to make sure I had my best shot at doing well.

I auditioned for a number of drama schools and was accepted into the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
