Curtis Ambrose

Biology, French, Health & Social Care

After visiting during open days, I knew I would be very comfortable doing my A Levels here.

Former school: Lady Hawkins's School

Studied: A Level Biology, French, Health & Social Care

It was made very clear that the College could deliver a high standard of teaching but I also liked the fact that there was focus on personal development and well-being. For example, providing us with in-College counsellors, meetings for people from the LGBT community, lots of extra-curricular activities, such as yoga, football, rugby etc. I knew there was something for everyone. My opinion didn't change, despite having to travel two hours every day. It was worth it.

I'm applying to university to do a nursing course after my gap year. Being male, I think it will be good to break stereotypes. Convincing other males to look into doing nursing is vital as it's clear that there is a high demand for nurses everywhere. I think studying Health & Social Care is a good way to highlight those opportunities.
