This subject will look at the significant role that IT systems have in the world around us and play a part in almost everything we do.
Applied Information Technology
You will explore the relationships between the hardware and sofware that form an IT system, how systems work individually and together, and the relationship between the user and the system. You will examine issues related to the use of IT systems and the impact that they have on organisations and individuals.

What does the course involve?
- IT Systems: Explore the relationships between hardware and software, user and system. Issues related to IT systems and the impact on organisations and individuals.
- Cyber Security and Incident Management: Examine and understand cyber-attacks, methods of data and network protection and digital forensic investigation methods.
- Website development: Task based project to exam board set brief. Explore principles of website development. Using design skills and techniques, develop a website to meet a given brief.
- Relational Database Development: Understand the uses of relational database. Design and develop a relational database to meet requirements of a given brief.

I like that this course has a focus on the creative aspects of it as well as the computer coding; I really enjoy that.
