Politics
The study of Politics will help you to better understand the processes by which decisions are made and hopefully make you realise that you matter and can change things.
Politics A Level
Fed up of politics? Do you like to argue? Whether we like it or not, politics has an effect on all of us. The taxes we pay, the schools and colleges we attend, the NHS, the holding of the Olympics in London in 2012, the decision to have a nuclear deterrent are all the result of political decisions.

What does the course involve?
Students will study and discuss questions such as ‘Why did Brexit happen and what impact did it have on our political system?’, ‘What powers does the Prime Minister have and how they are limited?’, and ‘Should we consider changing our voting system?’
During the course, there’s also an emphasis on political ideas that have shaped our world for good or ill, including Liberalism, Socialism, Conservatism, and Anarchism.
Discuss some of the pressing issues in US politics today. “Is Congress performing it’s roles effectively?,” “Is the
Supreme Court becoming a political institution?” and “Is the U.S. constitution outdated?”
