Hereford Sixth Form College has over 2000 full-time 16-19 students and an excellent reputation for its results and extra-curricular provision.
Rated Ofsted outstanding in 2007 and again in 2023, the College consistently achieves one of the highest Advanced Level points scores per entry of over 100 SFC’s nationally and has outstanding value added results as measured by both the ALIS and ALPS systems.
The Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), formed on 1 April 2019, delivers education in the West Midlands; Hereford Sixth Form College is a part of this Trust. The MAT has an annual budget of £50m and serves the needs of 8,500 students across the region.

In Reach lessons, you will inspire and develop students’ aspirations, so they can gain places at competitive universities or degree apprenticeships. As part of the role you will be interested in teaching the UCAT (university admissions tests for Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry), and ESAT admissions tests (for Engineering and Science courses), doing mock interviews, and in developing students’ problem solving skills for interview.
Our award-winning REACH programme is aimed at raising aspirations both for students with high prior attainment, but also for students from disadvantaged backgrounds or from lower socio-economic groups. Lead Tutors act as a point of support, advice and guidance for the team of Personal Tutors and deal with initial referrals from personal tutors for students with complex issues. They will support and promote equality and diversity, safeguarding and child protection awareness within the college; help to maintain and promote good discipline; help to develop a culture of mutual support; and share best practice within the lead tutor and personal tutor team..
