HSFC students receive Rotary commendation Awards

Enrichment Coordinator Marco Martinelli and Hereford Rotary Education Officer Ron Pearce with award recipients Sasha, Ellie, Meghan and Bryony.

Trailblazing students from a wide cross section of departments have achieved recognition from Hereford Rotary Club. On the 1st May, Education Officer Ron Pearce of Hereford Rotary visited college to present award certificates in person. The range of achievements are to many to mention but here are a few-

Ellie Whittal received the Young Citizen Award in recognition for her contributions of public service. She is a volunteer at Hay Castle Trust, has been a fundraiser for the Poppy Appeal for many years, raised money in the RAF Cadets and raised money for the armed forces charity SSAFA for the last 3 years.

Meghan Willis gained the Young Sports Hero Award for her outstanding contribution to swimming. She recently took 3 Welsh records in a single weekend: 100m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke and 200m Individual relay. She has also been selected for the 2025  Aquatics GB Para Swimming World Class Programme. 

Bryony  Gregory accepted the Young Environmental Award for her academic achievements and engagement in community projects. She has an active role in Madley Environmental science centre and fundraising for the Wildlife trust.

Rotary Club is a prestigious public spirited organisation and receiving recognition is a highly valuable to young people in their career be it employment of HE applications. HSFC is grateful of their support.
