Music Students Enjoy Masterclass With Renowned Pianist
Posted on 28th March 2023
College Musicians were delighted to welcome renowned virtuoso pianist Roman Kosyakov to HSFC last month. Roman hosted a workshop with students as part of English Symphony Orchestra's Youth programme, encouraging young musicians to develop musicianship, confidence and sociability.
Students benefitted from one to one "masterclasses", playing their chosen piece and receiving guidance from Roman on improving their technique, presentation and approach. A wider audience of students and staff enjoyed watching Roman guide students, hearing in a short time how the pieces developed and seeing students' confidence grow.
Roman Kosyakov made his debut with orchestra at the age of 12, performing Mozart Concerto No. 23 in A Major. Since September 2017, he has been studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on a full scholarship with P. Nemirovski. He is a laureate and winner of many national and international competitions and is regularly invited to give concerts across the world.
