Students Enjoy A Taste Of Life At A Film School

Students taking part in workshops at the Screen and Film School in Birmingham
In January, Media Production and Media Studies students visited the Screen and Film School in Birmingham. In recent years the film school, part of the BIMM Institute, has seen increasing numbers of HSFC students applying to study there. Students enjoyed workshops which gave them a taste of life at a film school.
Students learnt how to devise and set up a scene in a filmmaking workshop, hosted in the state of the art studio by an industry professional.
The production design workshop taught students the importance of understanding scripts and characters for production design and how to use visual cues to support this.
A screen writing and directing workshop followed, which covered topics such as creating and pitching ideas, creative writing development and scripting.
