Upstage Productions presents "A Midwinter Night's Dream"

Upstage Productions presents William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream....with a twist! We have rebranded the play "A Midwinter Night’s Dream", the action taking place not in Athens, but in Oslo, with a Scandinavian forest - just in time for Christmas!
Students are learning about how Shakespeare’s texts are performance rather than literary texts – they develop a deeper understanding of the text through its practical application. They are learning more about producing theatre, some are actors but we also have set builders and decorators, puppet makers, costume construction, to name a few.
Cheri Whitehouse, Head of Theatrical Arts, said "I am really pleased with the large number of students who are interested in early English drama but also discovering how funny they are! This is a comedy and they are fully embracing the madness and magic of the play. The construction crew have created an interesting set design and we are enjoying seeing it all come together week-by-week."
"A Midwinter Night's Dream" will be showing in the Performing Arts Centre at 7.00pm from 29th November through to the 2nd of December. More exciting details to follow!
