South Wye Police Boxing Academy is proud to celebrate over 15 years of hosting its annual boxing shows at Hereford Sixth Form College, a partnership that began in 2009 and has continued to flourish ever since. With the exception of 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic prevented the event from taking place, the show has become a firm fixture in the local sporting and social calendar.
Last year’s Christmas show marked the 16th event held at the college and once again demonstrated the strength of the collaboration between the Academy and the college community.
“It has been a wonderful partnership for the boxing club and the college,” said Vince McNally MBE, Club President of South Wye Police Boxing Academy. “We have raised well over £40,000 for good causes in our community over the years. This year was no exception, with money being raised for the Pilgrim Bandits charity, supporting wounded service personnel, and the Hardship Fund of the Sixth Form College.”
What began as a local boxing event has evolved into an annual international event. Held in the college sports hall, the Christmas show offers guests a unique and memorable experience, including a three-course meal, live entertainment from a professional singer, and an exciting programme of 12 England v Wales amateur boxing bouts.
The 2025 Christmas show also highlighted the success of student-athletes, with Hereford Sixth Form College students Zac Bullock and George Harris both securing impressive victories in their respective bouts.
The Academy has expressed deep gratitude to the college for its continued support over the years.
“We cannot thank the college enough for all of their help and guidance over the years,” added McNally. “We hope that our show continues to grow and inspire our boxers for many years to come.”
As the event continues to expand in stature and impact, South Wye Police Boxing Academy and Hereford Sixth Form College remain committed to developing young talent, strengthening community ties, and raising vital funds for worthy causes.
