Staff and students at Hereford Sixth Form College are celebrating another year of outstanding achievement, with students across a wide range of Level 3 courses securing record breaking results and taking their next steps towards university, apprenticeships and employment.

More than 1000 students completed their studies this summer, reflecting the hard work, resilience and ambition shown throughout their time at the college.

Applied courses again excelled, with over 57% of students achieving Distinctions.

This year’s results were particularly impressive, with a record 57.2% of grades awarded at A* to B, above the national average of 55.6%. The college also achieved an outstanding pass rate of 99.2%, exceeding the national average of 97.5%. These exceptional outcomes underline the strength of teaching and learning at Hereford Sixth Form College and are particularly noteworthy for an open-access provider.

Ben W, a former Bishops Secondary School student, is celebrating an amazing A*A*A*A*. “HSFC has been invaluable in helping me succeed. All my teachers have been inspiring and have pushed me further academically than I thought possible.” Ben is going on to study Medicine at Oxford University.

Anna H, a former Chase School student, is celebrating A*A*A*A. “HSFC has been the most incredible opportunity for me and my future, giving me the perfect balance of independence and support.” Anna is going on to study a degree apprenticeship in Project Management Consultancy at AtkinsRéalis.

Joseph P, is planning to study Maths at Warwick University and is celebrating achieving A*A*A and a Distinction, after joining us from Lady Hawkins. “Success is down to the excellent teaching at the college.”

Principal Catherine Brearey praised students for their commitment and resilience and paid tribute to the dedication and encouragement of college staff, whose support has helped students achieve their goals.

“Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students and the dedication they have shown throughout their studies. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and of the positive impact they have made within our college community. These results reflect not only their hard work and determination, but also the encouragement and support of our staff whose expertise, care and commitment help our students realise their potential. We wish every student the very best as they begin the next exciting chapter of their journey.”
